Hevngerfull Rovgud - Vengeful God of Prey
Hevngerfull Rovgud - Vengeful God of Prey 11×17” print
Observing the dwindling populations of the truly wild kingdoms of our planet has been disheartening for me. This piece represents the hope and respect I hold for our Mother Nature to rise up in all her vengeful wrath, to strike a new balance.
It is going to require much more than a few scantilly clad women dancing around a bonfire at night to heal this plant. This is going to require generational efforts to mitigate and reverse the damages we have done to planet populations of indigenous plants, animals, and peoples. I have come to realize wild places are gone and will never be the same as I dreamed as a small child imbibing a National Geographic.
In the words of David Attenborough in his most recent autobiography, A Life On Our Planet, this is “the story of how we came to make this, our greatest mistake, and how, if we act now, we can yet put it right”. I truly believe that it is not too late.
Cheers,
Amanda
